Surpassed all expectations, yoga and a wonderful holiday, the best I ever had for a long time.

We offer two week program of yoga and meditation through out the year, conducted by either European or Sri Lankan teachers, some of whose bio data appears in the teacher's column.
The 14 day program comprises 10 days of yoga with a two day break after day five. One day either side allows you to arrive and depart at leisure. The two day break is designed to give your body a well earned rest. Click here to find out more about what you might do in your free time. Whilst our course is for two weeks, we can accommodate you on a weekly schedule as well.

Current program for the years 2005/2006 will give participants the unique opportunity to volunteer on tsunami related work in around the area. While the area around Boossa is affected by the devastating waves, the charming villa de Zoysa was untouched! Devinda who owns and runs the villa has coordinated with several international aid groups to found several relief organizations based in Galle, 10 minutes outside of Boossa. Participants who are interested can spend afternoons working on projects to help the locals rebuild their lives. Some possibilities include helping fishermen to paint boats, visiting with micro-businesses (vendors and workers) financed by these organizations, helping with housing construction or participating in programs for children in the local school. These are just some of the options; possibilities are only limited by the interest and skills of those willing to help, although anyone with an interest and a heart can get involved with the children's projects. Also, as another incentive to help, a percentage of the registration fee for this retreat will be donated to local relief organisations.
The daily program will consist of morning (Mysore style) asana
practice, afternoons working with locals on chosen projects, and then
pranayama, meditation and discussion in the evenings. Breakfast and
dinner will be provided by Villa de Zoysa's excellent local chefs, with
vegetarian options.
There is also the possibility of taking an overnight trip to visit wild
elephants in Udawalawe National Park and a walk in the Sinharaja rain
forest.
